After fixing breakfast and doing a few chores, I went back to bed. I set my alarm so I could sleep for 2 hours but after about half an hour, we had company so I got up, and that was really a much better nap than had I slept 2 hours. I’ll be able to go to bed at a decent hour tonight and hopefully sleep til Wilbur wakes up in the morning. I’m getting a hankering for chicken and dumplings and the urge gets stronger every morning about 5:30.
Vince had to go back to the hardware store so . . I sat in the car and knitted again!
Black jeans instead of blue today so you know it’s a different day!
Vince must’ve dreamed about the corn fritters because he wanted to go back to Zephyr and eat again today . . two days in a row. I was happy . . I like going there.
On the way home, the clouds kept getting darker and heavier and we had a downpour, which we always appreciate in this dry, thirsty area.
We came home, opened the windows and now we’re sitting here listening to the rain and thunder. Soon I’ll get out a bottle of wine and we’ll move out to the porch and we’ll discuss all the important events of the week . . such as what I replanted in the garden, what Boots did that was funny . . and you can bet we’ll talk about how much we love our little piece of Texas! Life is good!

Totally off the subject, but on a previous post you talked about sand spurs, so I looked them up. Those are some nasty looking buggers and I’m glad we don’t have them in Ohio. We have plenty of other nasty stuff to put up with though!

You know, it just occurred to me that Paul and I did something very similar. Almost weekly, we would talk about this, that or something, and we’d wind up talking about how glad we were we’d bought THIS model of 5th wheel, and how happy we were to be traveling full time, and, and, and …. I guess it’s a sign of a happy couple who has made decisions they are really glad they made. =)

Simple pleasures are the best. The sound of rain is one of the best on that list, especially when it’s needed. I have spent a good deal of time listening to the sound of rain. You’re right, a bottle of good wine is called for. Enjoy!
