Yesterday I ran by the pet store to get kitty litter. They often have kitties there from the local shelter. Look what I found:
I wanted to bring him home . . but I didn’t. Isn’t he a doll? I don’t think he’s going to be as big a cat as Boots is going to be. His feet are smaller than Boots’ were when was that young. If we go back there this weekend and he’s still there, he just may have to come home with us.
The best thing for me to do is to buy kitty litter at Wal-Mart and not go back to the pet store! 🙁

Aw, he’s so cute.

Judy,
This would be a perfect playmate and companion for Boots. You could rename them to “Double” & “Trouble” (LOL)
Carole says
Way too cute. What a pair of mischief-makers they could be together! It’s so hard to decide whether or not to get #2. We adopted an 8 year old from the shelter almost a year ago and have constantly wondered about a #2 but he’s so perfect that I don’t know that I want to mess with success. But you’ve got a baby who probably would do well with company especially since he doesn’t live in the house. Wish you well whatever your choice is.
Judy H says
You were stronger than I would have been! What a matched set they would be! They’d keep each other company and be the best of friends.
🙂
Sherrill says
Boots needs a friend and they’ll have SO much fun together. Go get him……..lol
shirley bruner says
You’re not thinking about this correctly. if Boots has a playmate….he will ignore you. and you can get sewing done. i think you need to rescue the kitty. he can be Socks. hahahahaa
Susan says
Someone will have spoken for him, trust me. He’s too cute not to be adopted!
Donna Keating says
He’s a doll, but it sure would be double trouble at your house then.
Joan says
Go for it–Boots would think he is looking in the mirror. Now that is another sweet tuxedo kitty.
Lee says
Aw, another cutie. I’m double-minded when it comes to one or two kitties. We have two, largely because I felt a second one would keep the other company. Didn’t quite go as planned. They get along ok, and even hang out and play ‘some times’, but they’re not like litter mates would have been. And Raven, my tuxie (less defined than yours) still pesters me. Today I was trying to work on some paperwork, where does she want to be? Yep, right ON the papers! And she’s our chunkier cat of the two.
Carole says
Years ago we had 2 litter mates, both female (my mom was their grandma their twice over via me and her cat). For 13 years it was “You’re ugly” … “Yeah, well your mother dresses you funny.” I kept telling them that they’d miss each other and they’d both look at me as if to say, “Can we find out???” When one died, I don’t think the other really did miss her very much. But they didn’t look alike and their personalities were totally different.
Linda Steller says
Uh-oh. A playmate for Boots? LOL actually, it might be a good idea!
barbara says
such fun!! AND they’ll exhaust each other and let you work. and shelter cats are so affectionate.
if it’s there when you go back, it was meant to be.

My daughter adopted two cats and named them Mischief and Mayhem, then took my kitty, Callie, when she kept jumping in front of me and tripping me. I always fell and hit my head, which my sons said was okay, since that’s the hardest part of my body. Now all three cats have their own person, but none of them like each other. They do each protect their person from the other two kitties though. The kids wanted to bring home a couple more, but their dad told them three was the limit. If they wanted more they had to give away one for each new one they got. I think Callie rules the roost though.
Denise in PA says
Awww, Judy, I know exactly how you feel! We dropped our Peke Lilly off at the “farm” to vacation while we were vacationing and there were two rescues there – sister Yorkies – 10 years old and they have always lived together. They need a home and my hubby and I both fell in love with them. Luckily, they will only be homed together, but it was SO hard not to take those two home when we went to pick up Lilly after our vacation this week. I’m keeping an eye out on the website for them and you just never know!
Brandy M. says
Oh yay! Boots needs a friend, Boots needs a kitty-friend!!! LOL!
Seriously, though… What a CUTE kitty!
Is it a boy or a girl?
🙂
Bev Austin says
Oh yeah, I did this, had two at a time. They were nothing alike although sisters, but they were so good for each other! How I miss them. They really took care of each other and were company for each other when we were away. It was a much better situation than having only one.
Carol says
I have 3 cats, 2 from a local shelter and one stray that the older cat befriended. They’re like people. They don’t always get along but they’re good for each other. They look out for each other and learn from each other.
Nancy Garner says
In spring Valley Ca. the animal shelter is using rabbit pellets for kitty litter. You can flush rabbit pellets down the toilet as it dissolves.
I asked my plumber about doing that and he said alot of people are using it now.
My trash cans no longer smell so bad.
JudyL says
Well, there’s a big difference in “a lot of people doing it” and it being ok to do. We’re on a septic tank and I wouldn’t consider doing that.
nancy Garner says
I think your right about septic tank, it probably would not work well, but in the city, it is the newest thing, and the rabbit pellets dissolve so it goes away down the line and it is approved here.
Ronna says
I used to have a kitty like that named Tuxedo Joe. Its hard not to want to rescue them all. =) I bought an airedale at a mall pet shop one time. Her name was Saracen Ursa..or Sara Bear.. and she was the best friend and love of my heart..she passed away from kidney failure years ago..but I don’t go back into pet stores either… =) But if I hadn’t that day..I would have missed out one of my life’s greatest joys.
jean says
You can not always choose another cat your cat will like. Some wonderful cats want to be only cats and they alone can choose their friends. Our terrific people oriented cat (fixed male) started spraying when we added a second fixed male and we had to split the house with each cat getting his own section. The first cat did not want to share his people and was happiest as an only cat. We certainly did not see this coming.
Laura says
We got a second dog to keep our first dog company, and it has worked well. They are great companions. They sleep side by side on the landing most of the day. I feel a lot less guilty taking them to the kennel now that they have each other.
I vote for the second kitty. You could take him on a trial basis or offer to foster him and see how it works out.
Nancy Garner says
fostering is a great way to find out if you are compatible with the kitty and if your kitty is compatible with her new friend.
Do it now.
Sheri says
Do it!! Two kitties are WAY more fun than one. Plus, they keep each other entertained (and then they get each other tired and ready for napping.) You and Boots both need this second kitty. 😉
Beth in AZ says
I love the look of tuxedo cats! How about Boots and Reboot?
nancy Garner says
Love, boots and re boot, how cute.
Dawn says
How cute would it be to have Boots and Socks?
You could write a children’s book about Judy and flip flops and Boots and Socks. LOL
and of course Vince’s green shirt. I agree if he is there still it was meant to be. Boots would probably love the playmate.
Mary in VA says
You caught the look perfectly. I would not have been able to say no. What a sweetie!
