This is the last bread post for at least a week . . I promise!
When I have a few minutes and am killing time, I either hang out at Ravelry or The Fresh Loaf. Last week, I saw a recipe for Pumpkin Sourdough Bread. This is the time of year when I can’t get enough pumpkin! I want pumpkin soup, pumpkin fudge, pumpkin pie, pumpkin everything and this pumpkin bread, which isn’t the sweet, dessert type bread, looked like something I had to try and all the ingredients were here.
I followed the recipe exactly as written and ended up with two loaves.
The bread was amazing. The crunch from the toasted pumpkin seeds, the chewy bread with the crispy crust . . perfect and extra perfect for this time of year.
For breakfast this week, I’ve enjoyed a thin slice, toasted, with just a tad of carrot jam. Nothing says Fall like waking up on a crispy, cool morning with pumpkin and carrots included in my breakfast.

Now carrot jam sounds interesting! So if you won’t talk about bread, how about jam?

It’s actually carrot cake jam and it’s in the recipes section.

So unusual and sounds wonderful. Bet it smelled heavenly baking. I would have it with cranberry orange jam or orange marmalade.

Is the pumpkin bread recipe also in the recipe section? I love all things pumpkin also, and that photo just made me so hungry for some. I’ll also print out the carrot jam recipe, because I have never heard of that before, and I also love all things carrot. And if you want to keep posting about bread, please do so. I love baking bread, and any new type is intriguing.
