Last night the rains moved in and for a while, it rained really hard. It’s so nice to sleep with rain falling on the metal roof, though nowadays there’s so much insulation that it doesn’t sound like it always sounded on my grandma’s roof. Or, maybe my hearing isn’t what it was 55 years ago! 🙂 The nights are also cool enough that we can sleep with the windows open again.
This morning, the rain gauge was happy, happy, happy . . with an almost full tube this morning. Almost 3″ of rain . . look at the green weeds in the background. In September . . first time we’ve seen that and this is our third September here.
We have a chance of getting 3″ more rain today. And it’s going to be cool this weekend with our high tomorrow supposed to be 82º. If it’s dry enough to work in the garden, we’ll be doing that. If it’s too wet to work outside, I’ll sit on the porch and knit all weekend . . or maybe I’ll make raspberry jelly since I have a bunch of raspberries in the freezer.
Last night I got 7 pints of pears canned and need to get the rest of them done today.
This morning I wanted to sit and knit but there was bread to be made. It’s so much easier making it in the blender instead of using the wheat grinder and Bosch mixer.
Now . . I can sit and knit for an hour or so!

Judy, where can I find your directions for mixing bread dough in the Vitamix? I looked under recipes, but maybe I missed it? Thanks

Judy, we have your clouds right now, and there’s an air show going on today, but the clouds are hiding the aircraft. Guess that makes the show a no-show, but makes it sound a lot like thunder. Glad you got the rain though. All that green looks good.

Yay on the rain! We’re supposed to have a rainy day tomorrow. It’s been long enough that I welcome it. June and July there was way too much, but I’m ready again. A rainy sewing day sounds good.
