First, before I announce the winner, I want to thank everyone who sent in even one Quilt of Valor (QOV) or who quilted one or who provided donations to help those who are making/quilting these quilts. Alycia has a report on her blog showing the quilts she received and the breakdown of where they went.
The 2012 QOV Challenge that I issued was that anyone who made at least 12 quilts during 2012 would get their name in a drawing to win a $300 gift certificate from Fat Quarter Shop. Alycia has drawn the winner and it is:
Norece Embody
When I read Alycia’s email with the winner’s name, I was so happy! I’ve actually met Norece! When I lived in Kentucky, she didn’t live terribly far from me and I can’t remember if it was when I was in Nashville for an AQS Expo or if it was when I was there for something else, but we met and had dinner. She is the nicest lady and I know she will greatly appreciate her gift certificate.
Congratulations to Norece and again, thanks to all who had any part in making QOVs in 2012. And, a huge thank you to Alycia for all she does and for keeping up with the names for this challenge.
Now . . for the 2013 QOV Challenge . . instead of having to send in 12 quilts to get a shot at a $300 gift certificate, here’s what you need to do to get a chance to win.
For every three QOVs you send to Alycia, your name will go into a drawing. On December 31, 2013, there will be three drawings, each to receive a $100 gift certificate from an online quilt shop.
Good luck and get busy sewing for this very worthy cause! 🙂
