I get the App Smitten newsletter and have found several good apps there but I still miss so many. While shopping at Kroger the other day, the lady behind me held out her cell phone for the checker to scan. So, I said to the lady behind me “What app is that?” and she told me. The app is called Key Ring.
It works great for us because I never know which cards are on which key rings and actually, I think we have several Kroger cards. Once Vince got to “that age”, we got a senior citizen card which gives extra discounts (I think) so I only scanned in the Kroger card that I want to use and took all the Kroger cards out of my wallet. Now, all of my frequent shopper cards are scanned into my phone!
It’s a pretty neat app if you use those frequent shopper cards. And Kroger has their own app for keeping track of your points.
It’s rare that I use my Kroger points for gas because the only place around here that accepts it usually has their gas quite a bit higher than the places that don’t accept it. Every now and then while traveling, I’ll come across a place that offers the Kroger discount and it’s nice to know how many points I have. To get this app, go to Kroger.com and it’s there.

I am so jealous… no smart phone here…. my girls use theirs for coupons.. at Michaels, hobby lobby Etc… they don’t have to carry the ads for those anymore… could be worth their weight for things like that.

Last time I was at Joann’s, the checker told me they had an ap to use in place of taking in your coupons. Haven’t looked yet but I was glad to hear that.

I keep holding off getting a “smart” phone, but perhaps the time has come. This seems like a terrific shortcut. I hate sorting through my wallet to find the right card. Thanks.

He husband has that on his phone. The only problem is, he leaves his phone home and I have to dig my card out anyways. Other than that, it is a wonderful app!

Oh bless you, Judy! I was just lamenting to a checker the other day that you have to have a card for every place you shop nowadays or you don’t get the sale price. My poor purse is stuffed with shopping cards, and even though it’s a Hobo International bag, which has a slot for nearly everything and I hoped it would keep me so organized, I just have too many cards! This will make my life so much easier and make my purse so much flatter. Just in time for traveling off to MQX east too. I’ll feel so much better getting on a plane with a purse that is not overstuffed!

While I have the app for Android, I haven’t totally broken my habit of using the cards on my keychain. My hubby, though, likes having it and uses it often – enough to get me some extra discounts at CVS!

I have a similar app on my iPhone, but hardly any of the stores have scanners that will read the barcodes. I would love to get all those tags off my key ring (my YMCA tag is ragged and about to disintegrate). The Y can’t read it, the libraries can’t read it. So you don’t have any problems with the scanners? Maybe it’s the phone.
