This week I pieced a backing for Sunny Side Up. 5-1/2 yards and it used up 6 leftover pieces of yellow fabric. Nothing added so that’s a good thing.
Used this Week: 5.5 yards
Used year to Date: 32.75 yards
Added this Week: 0
Added Year to Date: 0
Net Used for 2011: 32.75 yards
So . . this is where we finish out January. Still 11 months to bust that stash. How are you doing so far? Did the January sales get you? They almost got me a couple of times but I was strong! 🙂
Please share your stash report with us and don’t forget . . the link needs to be to a direct blog post and not to your main blog.

I did pretty good this month, I think. I did buy some fabric, but I only bought what I needed, so that was good. I was sorely tempted, though!
Bring on February! Can’t wait to see what the Monochromatic color is and which UFO I’ll work on next month!
pdudgeon says
me to. there’s a quilt show in my future late in February, so we’ll see what happens!
Kate says
Looks like you had a good start this year. I’m off and running. My challenge is next week with all the Super Bowl sales!
Dianne says
You’re doing great! I’ve made two purchases this year. One for a project, so that’s going to be in and out quick, and one for some stash building, so that may hang around for a while 😉
Susan Torrens says
I managed to catch some sales near the end of December, so they didn’t count for this year. DH has encouraged me to buy fabric at both the quilt shows that I’ve attended this year, but I stood my ground. The fabric was wonderful, but since I didn’t have a project in mind, I left it for someone else. At the show yesterday, some of the vendors were just taking orders to be delivered later, as they had run out of their products.

Your numbers are very good. My sweet hubby and son bought me gift certificates to the local quilt shop, but I did good, I am using them to quilt the really big tops. So far, I have not purchased anything. That won’t last long. Looking forward to seeing all the Mono quilts and the next challenge color. You have come up with such a great idea and I hope to stay in it the WHOLE year.

i’m doing a heck of a lot better than i was going last year at this point!!
this year so far…. 8.18 in the positive
last year week 5…. negative 131.71 yards!!!
BIG difference!!
Jeanne says
I donated some fabric to the guild this week, so my numbers improved.
Christine says
so far, so good
will blow numbers next week, but the month of January is OK
Happy Room Diana says
Didn’t do too badly in January. I even turned down the chance to go to a great fabric sale today, so feeling very saintly!
Caitlin says
On board now with the stash reports – it’s the first week I’ve bought fabric or used it!
Jennifer says
I am pleased with how my month ended. I had one bit of fabric in, but that’s because I won it, so that’s okay with me! I am more happy that I am working through some UFOs!
Kathy S. says
I was a little ahead on the stash busting. I will have to try harder not to hear the fabric calling my name at the quilt shop, especially the Stonehenge fabric that they just put out.

These Janurary sales are killing me!! But it’s great to stock up on terrific prints and I feel my stash is finally looking healthy and well balanced.
Mary C in WA says
I’m still on the + side at the end of my Birthday Month. My Son and his wife gave me a JoAnn’s gift card, but I used it for a new pair of nippers and batting. Wasn’t I smart? No fabric in this week. Not even for Fat Quarter Friday. I’m getting better.
Melanie says
Great job as always Judy! I have not been as good as I should have been this month, but I know February will be better! Thanks so much for hosting!
Barb in MI says
And here she takes off on her stash report, leaving us behind! Wow, to your determnination and zero in!
Julie says
Thanks for hosting this every week and all the other wonderful things you share with us.

Can I just say this gets “funner” every week! I wish I had joined up last year!

I’m in serious trouble. The out numbers are good, but the in numbers just keep growing and growing. HELP, somebody stop me!! LOL

Super excited about doing this.. time to go bust.

Judy, you inspired me to add some photos from the past. Come by and see my Grandma. Have a nice week. Sandi
Angie in So CA says
I may not break the stash, but I am slowly whittling at it.
Keep up the good work, Judy.
Anna McD says
nothing added this week….and I finished my ufo
Candi says
I’m almost even for the year, but I’m going to be buying some solids soon – I’m going to do the Single Girl Quilt Along/support group.
Michelle says
The thrift stores have better scrap bags in January — I think it’s the New Year’s resolutions as quilters decide to de-clutter. So I’m still picking up the good stuff when I see it because it won’t be as plentiful later in the year.
But I do get to report using up some fabric this week. Not that it made much of a dent. 🙂

Nothing in, a small amount out this week. But I did finish my second UFO for the year.
Bev in NC says
Finishing UFO’s and have now used more than I’ve bought. Now I need to get some batting so I can finish more!
Melissa says
What a week and we just got word of more ice and snow coming. I did have a mini trip with the quilting girls I had not seen in 6 months so I did buy a LITTLE fabric this week.
I just machine quilted my little mono quilt but I am not sure if I can get the binding on by tomorrow or not. I decided to make little quilts to fit the 12 inch wire frame my friend sold at her shop.
Melinda in CT says
WOW, Judy, still 0 yards added. Way to go. I had an Ah-Ha moment this week. It is a whole lot easier to add fabric to the stash than it is to use it.
Darlene S says
Good going Judy. I was not so good. I was ahead on my out going yards until this week. Picked up a couple of sale items at the shop near me. It was calling my name. I bought 3.5 yds this week. Now I’m a half yard in the hole for the year. Not as good as last year, but it’s still early! When I finish my next UFO the numbers will turn around. Dar in MO
leah says
Great job on your stash! You’ve done really well.
I don’t quite have my totals used. I’ll figure that out tomorrow and post those numbers. But I didn’t buy any fabric!
margeeth says
I just love the fact that you are allowed to start fresh in the new year, all that fabric I added to my stash last year just doesn’t count anymore. I wonder if this is similar to what catholics are feeling after confession?
krisgray says
The January sales got me early on but now it’s all the Civil War projects! Our guild is doing a CW BOM and then there’s Barbara Brackman’s weekly quilt block – I NEED some CW fabric. At retreat, a couple ladies had beautiful CW fabric – no wonder my husband likes it so. I actually have to drive b/c the 2 closest shops don’t carry it.
Melody Lake says
I did nothing quilt related this week. I did however stay at my Parent’s ranch while they took a quick road trip to Montana to pick up my Dad’s new dog. Quite a story…. Check my blog later in the week to see my adventures at the “funny farm”.
CJ says
Since one of my goals for 2011 is to use what I have before buying more, I thought I would join in here to keep accountable.
