Cutting Instructions:
Background Fabric:
6 – 4-1/2″ strips. Cut into 48 – 4-1/2″ squares (N)
2 – 1-1/2″ strips. Cut into 28 – 1-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ rectangles (Q)
Accent Fabric:
1 – 1-7/8″ strip. Cut into 14 – 1-7/8″ squares (P)
Gold:
1 – 4-1/2″ strip. Cut into 12 – 4-1/2″ squares (O)
Sewing Instructions:
13. Assemble the block, using the segments from Step 12, 4-1/2″ background squares (N) and a 4-1/2″ gold square (O). Make 12.
Now we’re going to get started making the corner and setting triangles:
14. Cut the 1-7/8″ accent squares (P) on the diagonal once. Sew to one end of a 1-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ background rectangle (Q). Make 14 of each of the units shown below.

I had to cut two 4 1/2″ strips of the gold to get 12 squares.
