Now for the fun stuff . .
Purple Fabric:
Cut 5 – 1″ strips.
Light Background Fabric:
Cut 5 – 1-1/2″ strips.
Border #2: Sew the 1″ purple strip to the sides. Press seam allowances towards the purple fabric. Sew the 1″ purple strip to the top and bottom. Press the seam allowances towards the purple fabric. The side borders should measure 1″ x 51-1/2″. The top and bottom border pieces should measure 1″ x 34-1/2:.
The top should measure 34-1/2″ x 52-1/2″, including seam allowances.
Border #3: Sew the 1-1/2″ light background strip to the sides. Press seam allowances towards the purple fabric. Sew the 1-1/2″ strips to the top and bottom. Press the seam allowances towards the purple fabric. The side borders should measure 1″ x 52-1/2″. The top and bottom border pieces should measure 1″ x 36-1/2:.
The top should measure 36-1/2″ x 54-1/2″, including seam allowances.

Your picture looks like you do background and then purple, but your instructions say purple first ?

Sigh. I should wake up before I post. Of course Judy wouldn’t get this wrong – the picture exactly matches her instructions, now that I’m a bit more awake.
