I’m up and sewing. What’s everyone working on? The quilting is finished on Dad’s quilt but it’s still on the longarm. It’s easier for me to trim threads while it’s on there but I was too tired to do it last night.
My goals for today are:
- Get the binding cut, made and attached to Dad’s quilt
- Get the sashing made for the Stash Project
Yesterday while making food to take to someone else, I divided the mac & cheese and the baked beans so we’d have some for today. I smoked a chicken for them but don’t like it re-heated so I’ll stick a chicken for us in the smoker later this morning.
That’s all the cooking I intend to do today!

Good morning. It’s no quilting for me today – at least not until this afternoon. Thanks to you I’ve become interested in sock knitting so I’m taking a class today. Can’t wait to get started. I’ll be quilting later.

I cut out a quilt on Thurs. & last night. This morning I zipped up the 1st 17 blocks while waiting for 1) the bathroom to heat up so I can take a shower and 2) outdoors to heat up so I can go outside. Now my sewing time is over until it gets dark out – lots of yard work to do today! Cheers! Evelyn

I hope to get most if not all the swap quilt-let applique’d today, then tomorrow I can quilt it.

Yesterday I sewed blocks and sashing together on a block of the month I’m doing. Today it is sewing on the borders and hopefully getting started on your latest stash project. Hope I can do the flying geese method you’ve shown!

I need to tidy up the studio a bit, rearrange the furniture so I can work on the Market quilts (need two tables together). Will get the second one fused, then will start stitching them both. Would like to have all the stitching done this weekend, and maybe even the final border. Will figure out the backing next week.

I need to get the HST border ready to put on my Bears in the… quilt. I have pulled some of my fabrics for the stash quilt and want to try the new method to make the flying geese blocks.

It’s a sewing day at my house!!! I have a quilt that has some pieced borders, and I need to get those done and on the quilt. After that, I have a wide variety of Projects Half Done from which to choose. This weekend definitely won’t be long enough!!! Thanks, Judy, for hosting our virtual get-together.

Good Morning from cool, but sunny, Utah.
I’m ready for a day of sewing, with a couple of breaks for errands.
Already have my first project completed…April Charity quilt…charity undecided.

I already posted the picture of my 48 FG blocks on my BLOG. I will use the ‘no-waste’ method again. This morning I’m off to a fundrasier b-fast at Applebees, then back to see if step 2 is ready. I was up until the wee hours so I might need a nap sometime today also… Counting UFO’s is hard work.

I finished the ironing and mending, so it’s hand quilting and making some flying geese today! It’s the assistant’s birthday, so there are balloons in my sewing room – how many do you think will pop today?

It’s noon and I am just starting to think about getting to the dye studio. I was at work until 11 PM last night and had been on my feet walking the floors of the building from 3 until 9 straight. I’m still a little tired but I’m anxious to start dyeing. hopefully I’ll have something to report tomorrow.

Maybe I’ll finish tying a lap quilt that has been sitting around for a few weeks now, then take advantage of the nice weather today- supposed to rain again tomorrow Tomorrow I think I’ll cut out a miranda day bag for my DIL’s birthday coming up (after DH goes to work) and hopefully get a good start on it.

I hope to finish Bears in the Farmhouse, get started on the new stash quilt and sew the rows together on a quilt I call “million triangles.”

I got a late start, but I’m sewing now. I just got all my large flying geese done for the Stash Project. I’m at my son’s so I may not get my blog updated with pictures until later tonight. Next up, some 2008 Sat Sampler blocks I’ve been dying to finish.

This morning was the quilt guild rummage sale so I had to help them out. I came home with 3 bags full of fabric and think I have enough scraps, strings, backgrounds and backings to last me for a while. Then I started to feel horrible so I skipped out on lunch with the girls, came home and took a nap. Now I am ready to sew for a while. Hubs won’t be home until late and he’ll be gone all day tomorrow so I am hoping to get my quilt as you go finished. But I think I need to bake some brownies first. 😉

I worked over 4.5 hours today remaking a quilt top from a blanket donated to Project Linus. The top is back in one piece, with some sashing strips added to make it longer. I’ll put borders on tomorrow.
When the blanket came in, there were holes where only one piece of fabric was caught in the seam. The sewing machine tension was unbalanced, making it easy to pull the thread out of the seams. Story and a photo are on my blog.

I worked on assembling blocks for Adam’s quilt today … it was nice to sew some after being gone. Tomorrow … some binding, more assembly, and hopefully I’ll get a top loaded and started.

Yesterday I sewed quite a number of blocks for a throw for DD1 and today am planning to finish them off and then work on the two other projects I have going in different stages. Or not! There are some UFO’s I want to sort out and maybe some cutting to do, but any time spent playing with fabric and thinking about quilting is time I love. I also have to shop for an appropriate companion fabric for DD1’s quilt as what I have on hand will not work. I love a trip to the LQS!
