If you made tamales today, how did it go? If it was your first time, did it seem to go faster as you got near the end? Will you make them again? If you made them, I hope it was a positive experience and I hope they are yummy and your family loves them and appreciates your effort.
A friend came over this morning and helped. Every job is lighter and happier with a good friend, right? It was her first time to make them and she said she’ll make some for them and I told her I’d come and help her when she does it.
We made about 5 dozen tamales and I fixed rice and beans and we had that, along with tamales, for our late lunch.
The rest of the tamales were vacuum sealed in groups of 5 (3 for Vince and 2 or me) and frozen.
It ended up being 12 packs, which won’t get us through the winter but it’s a good start.
Again, I hope you enjoyed making tamales and if you weren’t able to make them today but plan to make some later, you can always ask questions here if you have questions.

I posted last night before my tamales were finished cooking. This morning I had a couple for breakfast and they were good. Next time I may up the spices a bit but this is a good recipe.
