Last week on the Heartstrings list, I read a message about quilts being collected to send to Fort Hood. We were directed to Cherri House’s blog where I read more about it. Several quilts are in my “to be finished” stack that were destined to be sent to Alycia for QOV quilts so I brought one of those along with me, finished the binding by hand and sent it off to Fort Hood.
I was so glad this quilt was almost ready and I was able to send it along for this project and I’m hoping it brings comfort to one of the injured or to a family member who lost a loved one.

Thank you Judy for doing that. I am sure the quilt will bring tears and gratitude for your generousity. I am from another military community not too far away from FT. Hood. Many of our Army men/women and Marines here served at FT. Hood or know men and wormen from there. . . BLess you.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. My real calling is making quilts to donate and while I’m surely not happy of the circumstances that created the opportunity to donate quilts to Fort Hood, I’m happy that I had a quilt that was ready to send.
