For a while, the weather guy has been saying we have a good chance of ice - up to a 1" coating - this weekend. That's a lot of ice for trees and lines so we've prepared like there's a 100% chance it's going to happen. As of now, it looks like the ice is going to stay north of us. I think the ice/rain line is about 30 miles north of us. Chad may not be in great shape but he does have a fireplace ...
New Year’s Day Stitching Progess
The day isn't over but my friend and I got together and stitched pretty much non-stop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Last night I was up well past midnight. There were a few . . not disappointments but "what was I thinking?" moments. Instead of choosing linen and basting it to a frame, I had several frames that already had linen "installed". These had been for other projects and since I mostly use 40 ...
January 1, 2025
I've been really excited about New Year's Day this year because I think I've come up with the perfect plan for my journals. I actually have two stitching journals. One is the Book of Days and I've added some additional pages. There's one of these pages for each month. And one of these pages for each month. This is the Etsy shop where I purchased these sheets to download, along ...
Stitching Plans for 2025
I do love to make plans but I don't always stick with the plans. I'm going to be flexible with my stitching plans for 2025 but I hope I will stick with it. WIPS: I still want to work on getting WIPs finished. I'm not saying how many WIPs I want to finish. I just want to enjoy stitching them. My plan is to have one or two WIPs that will be part of my focus projects for each month. For ...
Bread & Ham
Monday is bread making day but I can be flexible. It hurts but I can change my plans! :) Yesterday (Monday) I wanted to get the canning done and I knew it would be too much to can four different dishes in 19 pint jars and make bread so I put the bread off until today. There is never a bread making day that passes that I don't remember the struggles and awful bread during those first few ...
A Funny Conversation
Maybe you had to be here but this was really funny. The background is that Vince and I do not read the same news, the same Facebook pages, the same books or magazines. We're really from two different planets - you know -- Venus and Mars! :) We had just finished dinner and I was waiting to get bread out of the oven so I sat down at the table and was looking at Facebook. Vince came in and was ...
