It's been a busy day but it was the kind of day I live for! EDIT to add a photo of Roxy, even though it's a photo of her with them swimming. I didn't take any pictures when she was here. She's a sweet little doll! Addie had a game just a bit south of here today but we had another commitment and couldn't go to the game so they brought the cute little Corgi puppy over and we kept the ...
Almost a Fully Finished Item!
Almost . . like so close . . waiting for glue to dry. This could be fully finished tonight. So, why didn't I wait until it was fully finished before blabbing about it? Because I am so darned excited. When was the last time I fully finished anything? I cannot remember! Today Vince and I were in town and I "needed" to stop by Hobby Lobby to get some floss. When I met up with Vince again in the ...
Apples & Pears
Vince found a fruit orchard just across the state line in Kansas. It's about 40 miles from our house so yesterday we took a trip over there and got a bunch of apples, Asian pears and regular pears. The lady gave us a taste of everything and those are the sweetest apples and pears I have ever tasted. We had a great orchard near us in Kentucky but I don't remember the apples and pears being this ...
Knitting Bug

I had hoped to have it finished for this past winter. Didn't happen. I doubt it's finished for ...
The End of Canning is Near
I am getting very close to running out of jars. That's going to put a stop to my canning til I empty some jars or until my next Azure order arrives, which is the end of September. I may empty 15 or so jars per week but that's a combination of half pints, pints and quarts so it takes a while to accumulate enough to have the pints or quarts I need to do some canning. Yesterday we left the house ...
Elderberries – Done for 2024
One thing I didn't expect when planting three or four elderberries in 2021 was that by 2024, I would have way too many plants. While they can be invasive and I'm sure they will be at some point, this year they were such heavy producers and, while I wouldn't call them invasive, next year may be a different story. The easiest way I've found to harvest and use them is to cut the whole stem and ...
