Today (Wednesday) was stitching day with my friend. I enjoy these days so much! When we first started getting together, we started at 10 and stitched til 4 p.m. Lately, we’ve decided we needed more time and started meeting at 9 and stitching til 4. Some days, we hardly get any stitching done but we talk about stitching non-stop. She finds the best things on Instagram and she will show me things she’s found. She even finds good recipes and other things to share. Even Chad wrote me this on FB after I got home. “You seem to be enjoying these weekly meet ups!” Yes, I really do!
Today we were talking about our stitching plans for 2025. I told her that I want a New Year’s Day start. In my mind, a New Year’s Day start should be something I work on at least a few months (who am I kidding?? YEARS!). I also want a blessing sampler project, which is something intended to be started on January 1 and completed by the end of the month. I talked about it in this post. I decided to stitch Strawberry Harvest (Keep Life Simple) and I got it finished by the end of the month.
For 2025, I think I may stitch one of these two charts:
I’m leaning more towards “Only Once”.
Then my friend and I started talking about the New Year’s Day start. She asked if I have Ann Morison and I do. She’s thought about stitching that one. I like it and it looks fairly easy and fun to stitch so I may stitch Ann Morison for the New Year’s Day start.
You know what’s really weird? This is a blog post I wrote on January 14, 2021 when I first showed Ann Morison. I also mentioned our credit card having been compromised back then. Guess what happened yesterday? Our credit card got compromised and Vince had to spend half of this morning getting that all straightened out and a new card ordered. What’s even more weird is that the card was used at Panera in FL for a delivery, probably to a hotel or something and not to someone’s real address. And, guess where my friend and I were meeting yesterday . . Panera! Not in Florida though! 🙂
Two new starts on January 1. Is that good or bad? I’m still going to spend a lot of time working on WIPs in 2025 but I will be making a few new starts – just not two every day! 🙂

Did you use your credit card in Panera’s? Or was it in a non RFID protected wallet? Becuase that is very suspicious about it being compromised and used in a Panera’s while you were in another Panera’s.
We just went through that. Somebody charge >$600 at some construction company in AZ (we live in CA). What a pain it is – especially at this time of the year!

Neither. The card was used in Florida on Tuesday evening. I was in Panera Wednesday. I only pay cash anywhere I go except for when I buy gas for the car. Apparently Vince had the card associated with his Panera loyalty account and somehow, that’s how it got used but again – it happened in FL and was actually for a delivery order so we have the address where the food was delivered. We end up having to change credit cards on average about three times a year due to fraud. Most of the time it’s used somewhere far away for something stupid. Once someone tried to buy a $3,000 light fixture with our card. I think just about every time it’s happened, the bank has caught it before we ever knew it. We do get messages any time our card is used when the card itself was not presented but with the internet we have at home, we often don’t get text messages until we leave home and get to where we have cell service. We left home today and as soon as we got to where there was cell service, my phone started beeping and I had four voice mails so even with wifi calling, the phone wasn’t working in the house yesterday afternoon. I think one of the requirements for us buying a house has to be that there’s no decent cell service. 🙂

You were at Panera, and your card was compromised for use at a Panera in FL??? Sounds fishy, as if they skimmed your card and somehow moved the info to FL. You are using a metal lined case for your credit cards, aren’t you? Or a foil wrapped sleeve you made to carry each credit card so it can’t be skimmed for the numbers? Good thing you and Vince keep track of your card usage!

Several friends and I meet every Wednesday at Panera’s to stitch and have lunch. We have the best time. We have been doing it for about 5 years now.

Panera is a great place to meet, isn’t it? The employees are so friendly and helpful. They will stop by and see what we’re working and and chat a bit with us. I’ve been surprised at how many regular customers they have that also will stop and talk to us and check on our progress.

I had talked myself out of a Christmas start and a Blessing Sampler this year. Now your talk about new starts has led me astray to think maybe I do need a Christmas start and a Blessing Sampler – heck, Blessings are always good. (You know I’m easily led astray.) Now I’ll likely spend the weekend planning new starts.

I was even thinking about starting the 2024 PS Santa on Christmas Day. Would be nice if I could get it finished before the 2025 version comes out. If it’s already come out, don’t tell me! 🙂
I do think you should do both a Christmas start and a Blessing Sampler!

Well of course you think I should start both Christmas and Blessing Sampler – that is why you lead me astray.. 🙂 I have the Blessing Sampler already chosen and just need to pick a Christmas start. And no – PS 2025 is not out yet. If I remember right the new one won’t get released until sometime later in 2025.
