Vince unpacked a box that had been in his shop and it had several cookbooks in it. One is a cookbook from a church I had attended while living in Louisiana. Those types of cookbooks always have the best recipes. There were several Popeye’s copycat biscuit recipes. This cookbook was published in the late 1990’s and at that time, Popeye’s had some of the best biscuits ever. I rarely go to Popeye’s now but either their biscuits have changed or my tastes have changed. But, I figured this recipe was worth trying, though in my head, these ingredients weren’t really going to produce a biscuit like I remembered Popeye’s biscuits but . . I love trying different biscuit recipes. So, yesterday morning I made these biscuits.
This recipe online is exactly the same as the recipe I tried.
No, they didn’t taste like I remember Popeye’s biscuits tasting but they were delicious. I did use my cultured sour cream, which is a lot thicker (and better) than regular storebought sour cream.
We had eggs, ham and biscuits for breakfast.
Vince seemed to really like these biscuits. Of course there were leftovers so today I’m going to make sausage gravy and probably scrambled eggs. Nice to have leftover biscuits!

I love biscuits but my husband doesn’t care for them. In fact ,he doesn’t care for bread except maybe a hotdog or hamburger buns. I guess that’s from working in a bread bakery in shipping department for 37 years. Of course, I don’t make biscuits because I can take bisquick and make crackers. Now ask me to make a cake and that’s a different story..lol.

Any way you can make the link clickable to the biscuit recipe? Thanks!

I’m sorry. I thought I had done that but I didn’t. It’s fixed now but here’s the link.

Any time I don’t add a link, please let me know. I do always intend to do it and sometimes, I’m 100% sure I did and it disappeared but I’m also 100% sure that I probably just THOUGHT I added it. 🙂

Both breakfasts sound perfect, I could eat them, and I’d love them!
