I’ve shown Oscar playing with this pipe before. Most of the time, it’s stuck in the gate to keep him from opening it and getting up the stairs but last night it was on the floor and he kept playing with it and playing with it so Vince got it and started playing with him.
Turn your volume down if you have dogs . . they’ll get upset.
The funny thing to me is that Oscar has a little patch on his chest where the hair is rubbed off. I have checked everything to see what could be causing it. His harness doesn’t touch him in that spot. I’ve checked in the crate. I’ve watched how he sleeps on his bed and that doesn’t seem to be a problem. I’ve googled “mange” and saw that autoimmune issues can cause hair loss so I was going to mention that to the vet.
In this video, I see that when he’s down low with his paws bent, which is often while he’s chasing something or playing with his ball, he’s rubbing his chest on the carpet and that must be why he has that little bald spot on his chest.
He’s a bit past 11 months now and hasn’t grown at all in the past two months. In fact, he’s off puppy food now and, as I expected, he’s lost 2 pounds. He’ll never be below the 12 or 13 pound limit to be technically a mini . . he’s right at 13 pounds now. He’s happy and we’re happy and the vet says he’s at a good weight so I’m not the least bit worried about his weight. We will try to keep him at that weight just for the health of his back.
Last night when Oscar was playing with the pipe, Boots wanted so badly to get down and chase the pipe too but he won’t get near Oscar. Boots sits on the back of the sofa and watches Oscar’s every move though. It’s funny because one day Oscar will try so hard to get Boots to play with him and Boots totally ignores Oscar. The next day, Boots will seem to try to get Oscar’s attention . . from afar, and Oscar totally ignores him. I wish they could be friends and play together or take naps together but so far . . not happening. I think Oscar still moves way too fast for Boots’ liking. And, Oscar doesn’t seem to have brakes. The few times Oscar has gone up to Boots, Oscar runs right into him. I think Boots thinks Oscar is going to come up close and they’ll sniff each other and decide if there’s going to be a relationship. No, Oscar is so excited, he runs full speed ahead and runs right into Boots. Wild little dog!

I was watching your video and my doxies heard Oscar. They came running to find out what that barking was. They watched Oscar intently chasing the pipe, not moving away or barking. Not sure if they realized it was a real dog or just a video. Once it finished, they just walked away.

Sounds like you have much better behaved Doxies than I have. 🙂

Wow, his bark is really high…do dogs “voices” change at puberty???

He only barks that high pitched bark when he’s chasing something. If the doorbell rings, you’d think there was a German Shepherd in the house.

How is Rita doing…

She’s doing great. Had her annual checkup a month or so ago and the vet was impressed with her – sweet little attitude and seems healthy. She is afraid of Oscar, mainly because he’s a little brute and she’s so tiny.

..He is so stinking cute! I really want a small dog but Donnie says no.

Loved watching Oscar, my Teddy and Tilly were fascinated watching with Teddy checking the back of the laptop to see if he could play.! PVC pipe would be chewed within minutes by my two who just love all things plastic from food bowls to credit cards aaaah. Maybe it’s a ruse so I do not buy any more charts.?
Its funny as both my wee dogs are 12-13lbs. Even though Tilly is a lot smaller than Teddy. She has short legs as she is a Cavachon. More Cavalier in looks with a Bichon coat. Both had to be sheared at the groomers as it has taken far too long to find a groomer with appointments, now it
will be every 8 weeks. Thankfully they do not molt so no hair on my linen or clothes.
Keep filming Oscar and I do hope we get to see Boots and Oscar playing together

Oscar doesn’t get pvc pipe as a toy – only when we’re playing with him and he’s halfway afraid of it. He wants to grab it but really doesn’t want to. No! Not your credit cards! That’s terrible.
