Yesterday when we were down on the south side of Joplin, we went by All Aboard Hamburgers & Ice Cream. A friend here had gone a month or so ago and posted about it on Facebook and I had wanted to try it but we’re on the north side of Joplin and this was the south side of Joplin and to get there, we either have to go down Main Street, which has about 200 red lights or we have to get on I-44 which has some crazy drivers. There’s at least one other way but we don’t often get off the beaten path so we decided we’d wait and go when we were already south of town.
So, yesterday we were south of town.
The burgers were so good! Nothing fancy – just a good, basic burger. They’re kinda small and you can buy them individually but they sell a bag of 5 for something like $12 so we got the bag of 5. I was easily able to eat two of them and Vince easily ate the remaining three.
The burger in the picture looks way bigger than they are. When we would go to the burger place down the road before it moved, the burgers were huge and I rarely ate half of mine.
The story we were told is that there was once an ice cream store in Joplin called Anderson’s Ice Cream. All the ice cream was homemade and through the years, it changed hands a couple of times and . . I don’t remember what the lady told us but the bottom line is . . these people now have the burger joint and the Anderson’s ice cream recipe.
That was the best ice cream I’ve ever tasted. Sorry Blue Bell. Vince got Apple Pie ice cream and I got Cherry Mash ice cream. It’s a good thing that place isn’t on our end of town!
They have an old rail car you can eat in. It was really a neat place and the burger and ice cream . . so delicious! It’s a good thing they’re closed on Sundays because I’d be tempted to want to go back today.

Reminds me of the Runaway Train! Except we have to split one of their burgers!! I also like the Texas Toothpicks there!
