Three Things Sampler

This is another project that I’m going to start in 2023. It’s Three Things Sampler by Moira Blackburn.

The picture is a bit brighter than shown above. I’ve seen some stitched on Instagram and they seem brighter. I’m not sure if they used the called for colors or not. We’re going to Hobby Lobby today and I”m going to get the called for colors and decide if I’ll swap out some of them.

A blog reader sent me this chart, along with the Aida fabric, when I first started stitching. She told me that she had it and it reminded her of something I would like so she wanted me to have it. That alone makes me want to stitch it! But, the words make me want to stitch it too. It says:

“Three things there are that will never come back
The arrow shot for on its destined track
The appointed hour that could not wait, and
The helpful word that was spoken too late.

It’s busy. It’s fairly large and I love it. If I stitch it on 40 count linen, it will finish at about 13″ x 18″. Not huge but not small and it’s pretty stitch heavy so it will take me a while.

I’m not sure where this will be in the lineup . . maybe #2 right after Consider the

I think it is. I got the floss for it today and I think it’s brighter than the picture shows . . not bright like lime green and purple but not washed out like the picture looks.

You might have caused me to click on the link you included and it was a spur of the moment – “if I add all the flosses to the cart and they are all in stock then I can buy the chart and floss” game.. YIPEE! it was all in stock so it will be coming to me. It has been A DAY! so it’s my reward for not maiming anyone before the work day was done. LOL

Yay! Want to stitch it together? That means – you start it and finish it while I do half a border? 🙂

LOL about the half the border comment. Of course I’ll stitch it with you – just let me know when.

I LOVE this one! You tempt me so to get back into cross stitching. But now I’m doing Bible college and still trying to find time for quilting. I retired from quilting for others the end of October and still have not worked on a single thing of mine. And then there’s the thing about the beautiful cross stitch of 1 Cor. 13 I started about 25 years ago that is still not finished…. Ugh! Can’t wait to see how yours turns out. I know it will be beautiful!

I got the floss for it today but it’s mixed in with floss I got for two other projects so I can’t really tell how bright or muted the colors are going to be. I would love to convince you to start back to cross stitching!
