The other night I was out with Oscar and had my flashlight. I shined it over on the wisteria and the purples and greens, with the dark background were so pretty in the light of the flashlight.
Last night I was out watching the blood moon and took a picture of the wisteria with the flash.
I think that is so pretty. I love purple and green together. The wisteria is beautiful this time of year when there are no dry, scraggly branches and everything is fresh. We’ve had a lot of rain lately so all the plants look happy and healthy.
Vince and I were laughing. One of the neighbors was complaining about cleaning out his pool. He said it’s so much more work than it is pleasure. Vince and I said . . hey, we planted three peach trees and two plum trees. Right now, it looks like we may (and that’s a very big MAY) get one peach! How’s that for work/reward?
We did have 6 plums on one plum tree but they fell off, which isn’t surprising for a new tree. Maybe next year!

I love all the flowers this time of year. I usually think instead of “April showers bring May flowers” it should be “March showers bring April flowers” since that is when the daffodils are at their best. I look out over my back yard now and my huge iris bed is in full bloom, and the peonies are in full bloom, and the roses are blooming, so I guess “April showers…” is accurate after all! I love to go out and just stare at the flowers.

Really. I guess farther north it may be different. When Nicole, Addie and I went to Louisiana the first week in April, the wisteria in east Texas and all of Louisiana was in full bloom and ours is just now in full bloom.

How I wish I had a place to plant wisteria, a favorite of both of us. Yours are beautiful! Thank you for the picture! I think I have decided on a place for peonies. Hopefully this will work out!

You have to be so careful with wisteria. We didn’t want it near the house. We didn’t want it where it could reach trees. We have it far enough from the solar panels that we should be able to keep it from getting to them.
I hope your peony plan works. They are so beautiful and smell so good. And,we planted these at the very end of summer last year and they’re blooming so if you can plant them this year, you should have blooms next year.
