Last night about 10:20 we had a storm come through and it got crazy for a few minutes. The power blinked several times. I told Vince . . I’m taking a shower before the power goes off and stays off! I was in and out of the shower in about 5 minutes. I ran upstairs, got a glass of water, came back down and it seemed the worst of the storm was over but within a few minutes, it started again. The electricity went off for a few minutes and the internet didn’t come back on for half an hour or so.
Until the thunder got crazy loud, Rita didn’t react at all. Once it was rattling the walls, she began to get nervous. Oscar wasn’t sure what to think. He wasn’t really scared but he was ready for it to end.
I’m pretty sure Rita is losing her hearing. For the first hour or so of thunder, she never reacted.
My cross stitching ended early last night when the power was going on and off and I couldn’t use the magnifying light – best thing to do was go to bed and forget about the storms outside.
The last time I looked, we had almost 4″ of rain so I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t go over 5″ by the end of the day. I haven’t been upstairs to look at the weather station to see how much rain we got before midnight and I haven’t added the app to the phone. The local meteorologist said just south of us had 5″ of rain by 5 p.m. so they may have gotten close to 10″.
The news online this morning is saying typical low water crossings are closed. When I took the dogs out, it was still dark but there’s a lot of water out there and it’s supposed to rain off and on all day.
A good day to stay in and cross stitch!

WHAT?? 105 already? Oh, Nelle! I’m so sorry. It’s going to be a bad fire season if y’all don’t get some good rain.
