Last night I was thinking about the day. Fairly early yesterday morning the man behind us came over and helped Vince move one of his heavy tools into the shop. They guy hung around and visited for a while and we talked about trees we both want to plant along our property line. Later in the day, his kids saw me outside and ran over to visit. Then their mom came over to get them to come back home and we visited a while. A bit later the man down the street came over to bring me more okra. Then later in the afternoon, Chad, Nicole and Addie stopped by so four different times, we had company for a total of 8 visitors. It’s like Grand Central Station around here some days. I like it!
Additions:
I did order three new charts yesterday. You can find more info about them in this post. They’re different from most anything I have already.
Cooking:
Vince wanted a big breakfast so we had ham, eggs, and toast. I should have made grits but never thought about it til I started writing this post.
Later I made fried rice for dinner. It wasn’t terribly authentic I’m sure. Often when I make rice, I’ll make extra because I like to start fried rice off with cold, cooked rice. I added a couple of fried eggs, asparagus, bell peppers, onions, ham, scallops, shrimp, okra, frozen peas, carrots . . whatever I saw that looked like it might work and it was delicious.
We ate about 3, then Chad and Nicole called and said they’d be here about 4:30 so Vince went and got pizza for them. I knew they’d be hungry and tired and probably wouldn’t like all the stuff in my fried rice. They left my uncle’s at 5 a.m. so they had a long day on the road. I didn’t eat pizza with them but sat and talked with them while they ate.
Videos I Watched:
Sheri from The Loopy Ewe – Colorado Cross Stitcher
Appalachia’s Homestead with Patara – Your Granny was a MAD Prepper. This is a new youtube channel for me and I love it.
Stitching:
Last night’s progress report on A Changed World.
Plans for Today:
Today is going to be leftovers – we have pizza and fried rice.
I’m hoping to get some good cross stitching time.
I’ll probably work on a grocery deliver order. I need to make some plans for holiday baking and make sure I get whatever I’m going to need.
Doesn’t sound like much but I’m sure by the end of the day, things will have been added.

When we lived in North Ranch (our first home in AZ) we had visitors all the time, seldom did a day go by that someone didn’t stop in. Here in Montana and in our present AZ home we never have visitors and I miss it!

I would miss it too and looking back, that was probably one of the reasons I was ready to leave Texas. Oh, heck . . Addie was 100% of the reason I wanted to leave but I did miss having friends drop by.

Isn’t it nice to have such nice friendly neighbors? Our old neighborhood was like that and it was terrific. Our current neighborhood isn’t “unfriendly”, but folks are not as quick to just walk over and chat with each other. My theory has been that most of them hire their yardwork done, so no one is just outside working and seeing neighbors to talk to. LOL
Judy Laquidara says
That may be exactly what it is because it is when we’re outside doing yardwork that we talk to most of the neighbors. One has to drive over but he’s super friendly and comes often. If we haven’t seen him in two or three days, Vince will say “I need to call and see what he’s up to!”
