This isn’t stressful for me because I love planning and playing with fabric and floss but I cannot decide what to do for June Cross Stitch Camp.
Should I do something very simple that I’m almost certain I’ll get finished? Certain should not be a word in my vocabulary because no matter how sure I am that I will get something done, I often don’t. Yesterday, we didn’t plan on leaving the house and thought I would cross stitch all day. We didn’t leave the house except for running to Atwoods to get a funnel but I never took a single stitch. I had a grocery order delivered and put all that away. I made yogurt, I got those strawberries. We hooked up the freeze dryer. Got the strawberries slice and in the freeze dryer. Stirred up sourdough English muffins to make tomorrow. But, never touched the cross stitching.
Should I do something a bit more challenging and force myself to sit and stitch a lot more than I’ve been doing?
But, I do have a few days before June 1 so I need to settle on a project. If I want to go simple, I could do Glory:
Or, I could do the Prim Alphabet Sampler I showed earlier. I would probably frame it because I have a great place to hang this.
If I want to do a project that’s just a bit more challenging, I could do Sarah Platt 1811. I love those colors.
Even a bit more challenging would be Little Deeds. I have wanted to make this one since I saw it.
I’m thinking June is probably the month I’ll have the most time to get things done. Addie has her little enrichment type summer school during the month of June so I probably won’t see much of her during June. We have a trip planned for July so there will be at least a week of no cross stitching. I’ll take knitting because of needing magnifying lamp/glasses to stitch. August . . seems like so far away but I know it isn’t.

Personally, I would choose something I had a fair chance of completing in June. If you aren’t able to finish June, you will already feel defeated in July….at least I would!
Judy Laquidara says
It won’t bother me if I don’t finish it in June. I would love to finish but it would take more than that to make me feel defeated. I have a lot going on so it isn’t like I’m sitting accomplishing nothing.
Liz says
I would do the first one (flag) so that its finished by July 4th. And, you will have a busy June with the gardening as well as getting things to can & freeze dry from the farmers market. So,simple is good.
Judy Laquidara says
Even if I did the one flag, it wouldn’t be framed and ready for hanging by this year’s July 4. It takes months to get a frame these days.
Tracy says
I find my time gets used by other activities if I am not specific about it. Instead of telling myself I’ll spend the whole day stitching, I usually give my self an hour, if it goes over, no problem:). Yesterday I didn’t think I would have time to stitch in between all my chores/etc, but I managed to find an hour. Personally, I think you should stitch the sulky Prim sampler, I’m curious about the thread and how it handles.
Judy Laquidara says
The Memorial Day project I’m working on is Sulky threads and I love working with them.
Helene says
I really need to thank you for having such a large variety of patterns. I don’t have to listen to any flosstubes because if I see something on your blog that I like, I go online to my favorite stitching website and add it to my wish list. I’ve got quite a wish list going and it’s mostly thanks to you!
Judy Laquidara says
I’m not sure if I should say “you’re welcome” or “I’m sorry”! 🙂 I’m going so say You’re Welcome! 🙂
