It’s here! We’re here . . that’s a good sign, right?
It’s funny because even this morning, I keep having that “gotcha” feeling. You know when someone tries to scare you and you keep waiting for them to do it again. I keep finding myself thinking . . 2021, I am not afraid of you! 🙂
OK. I’m starting to talk to the year. That must mean the isolation is getting to me.
Last night, central Texas got snow. Vince sent me these pictures.
You would know I’d miss this. I love snow.
What I don’t like is ice and it’s sleeting in MO. I can hear it hitting the windows and that may mean we lose power tonight. I’m going to write a few blog posts ahead if I can get them done in time so . . don’t worry about me if I don’t respond to comments/questions or if I go a few days without posting. The phone hardly works at all without wifi so . . I have plenty of food; Vince hooked up the propane camp stove before he left and I have my little backpacking stove with plenty of fuel, and the fireplace so I’ll be fine.

Happy 2021 – hoping you keep power.

Happy New Year! Hopefully it won’t start with a power outage! Our back deck is full of ice. We didn’t realize it last night and let our Papillon, Winston, out. He got down the steps fine…I can’t imagine how…but then he couldn’t get back up. We heard him barking so went down to the lower level and let him in that door. He was so thankful he got on my lap and wouldnt get down. My husband couldn’t even lure him with a piece of peanut butter cracker, and that’s unheard of!

Happy New Year! I’m glad to hear about your parents doing ok.
I went to bed with freezing rain and woke up to a couple inches of snow in OKC. Any news when Vince will be coming up to MO, at least for a visit?

He says he isn’t coming back til the house is sold so . . we’ll see.

Had an entire post almost ready to go and it disappeared on me! I sometimes enjoy it when the power goes out. We have a woodstove for heat, and I can also cook on it, so all we need is the wood to burn and we’re good to go. Right now we don’t have the wood, but there’s a tree down in the back yard that we just have to cut up into lengths and we’d have it, so not a big deal. Let’s hope and pray 2021 is a lot better than 2020!!

Yes, wide spread, too. I have a friend traveling home from west on I-20. She spent 3 hours going 29 miles, got off, turned around and went back to Midland and got a hotel. Roads around Big Spring are so icy and traffic is backed up to the west (or was mid-afternoon) 30 miles. She decided she would wait it out. I don’t know if they are salting highways or not, but the forecast is black ice in the morning! Much better to be inside like Vince!

Not good traveling weather. I hope she finds a break and gets to get back on the road.

I will send you a picture of Downtown Brownwood last night when it was snowing so hard. You can see they were big white fluffy flakes. There were snowmen all over town today! I think we got about 3″ of snow after about that much or more rain during the day. Was not expecting any snow until it started coming down. It was coming down so hard you could hardly see the fence in my backyard! It was beautiful. My chow and corgi are so sad it is gone now! LOL
