Pie Crust Obsession

A Funny Addie Story

Thanksgiving, 2020

I was a bit obsessed with the pie crust making. Four!

The first one was for the pumpkin pie. The second one was for the chocolate pie. I combined the scraps from those two crusts to make the turkey topper and then with what was left over, I had a bit of the pumpkin pie filling left so I made a little pumpkin pie. I have mini pie pans but I guess they’re in Texas so I had to use a mini loaf pan.

The turkey decoration isn’t perfect. It was suppose to have more feathers but Addie got tired of making feathers so . . he has fewer feathers but he’s still cute.

I believe everything is going as it should for our Thanksgiving Feast.

I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving! I’m sorry that some will not be able to spend it with family and friends, either because of local regulations or because of concern for your own health or the health of loved ones.

What a crazy year 2020 has been. I see so many wishing for it to end quickly but I keep thinking . . what IF 2021 isn’t any better? I know . . never say never . . but I think and am holding out hope that there’s never another year like 2020.

And as I say that, 2020 is the year that I finally was able to get back to Missouri to be closer to Addie, and for that I will always be thankful. A couple of days ago, I don’t know what we were talking about but Vince was joking and said “Tell me again why you wanted to move here!” Addie piped in and said “I can tell you that! She wanted to be closer to ME!” Smart girl!

Judy, you are a great baker! Your turkey looks wonderful, I will have to remember how you made that. I can tell that you are having a great time being in your new kitchen with Addie. I hope everyone looks deep and finds things they are thankful for. I know COVID has made it difficult for many families. I hope you have a wonderful day.

All in all, this has been a good year. I think life is what we make it. I am so glad you are near your family and can be together so much. I know Addie will never forget the good times she has had with you. You have your dream house and you have a good life there. You will flourish there. I will miss you being in Texas but you are only a email away! Enjoy every moment of it.
