The cabbage rolls made in the pressure cooker are so good! I use this recipe from Pressure Cooking Today. Yesterday I thought about looking for a recipe to make them in the slow cooker but decided why change a good thing.
I think I ended up with 21 cabbage rolls.
I halfway expected to get an error message because the pot was too full but I didn’t.
I ended up with four cabbage rolls in four containers for the freezer and 5 cabbage rolls in a jar. Monday or Tuesday we’ll have the cabbage rolls out of the jar for dinner.
These are great for the freezer. They taste just like fresh when heated up. This is how I love to cook – they aren’t that much work but it’s so worth it to do it and then have five meals ready to heat and eat.

Good Morning, Judy! Totally unrelated to these delicious looking cabbage rolls, but I saw this article in the NY Times this morning snd thought of you.

Thank you so much for sharing that story. I hadn’t seen that. Amazing story of the resiliency of the Lake Charles residents.
My parents have their new roof, the dry wall (walls and ceilings) has been replaced. Last time we talked about, they still needed floor covering installed and walls/ceiling repainted. They are some of the lucky ones because they had Shelter Insurance, which from what I’m hearing, has really done right by their customers. Dad was able to have an adjuster come quickly and get contractors in right away to start rebuilding. My niece’s husband works on the commercial construction industry so he was able to help them get the folks lined up and even though it’s been terribly hard for mom and dad, there’s light at the end of the tunnel for them.

BTW, I never would have known about Lake Charles if not for you!

I tried to make cabbage rolls last year. It was a lot of work! I had to make certain that the cabbage cooked enough that the leaves were soft enough to be removed from the head, make sure the extra-firm centers of the leaf were not used or cut them out, hope they were soft enough to wrap ‘around’ the meat, try to keep the meat from falling out of the leaf, and then fit them into the pan and put sauce on them. Not so easy to do. I decided once was enough. They were tasty.

I made 21 one rolls in less than an hour not counting the cooking time in the Instant Pot. It must get faster the more you do it. I always have cabbage rolls in the freezer for a quick meal.

Thanks for the recipe. I see where they say they’ve updated the recipe where it shortens the process, but it’s in the cookbook. Any thoughts?

I follow the online recipe.

They look so tasty. So smart to make tuck some in the freezer for future meals!
