Nicole brought me a dozen little pullet eggs their hens are laying.
It’s been about 13 years since Vince and I got our first chickens so that means Chad was about 20. He was off at college, coming home on weekends and I think us having backyard chickens was about the most embarrassing thing that we ever did. He wanted no part of our chickens and the only “good” thing was that we had put the chicken coop on a lot we bought that was behind our lot so it actually kinda looked like they belonged to someone else.
Now, Chad has his own chickens and he loves those chickens just like I always loved my chickens. They all have names. He had too many and gave some to a friend and I think he still misses those chickens.
It really feels like we’ve come full circle with the chickens and eggs.
It’s nice to be getting good eggs, even though I don’t have my own chickens. There are people a few houses down from us, in the same subdivision, who have geese. You know what I’m thinking! You know what Vince is NOT thinking!
