I think Texas is saying to me “You want to leave? Fine, but you aren’t getting out easy!”
I read this evening that Abilene’s record high was 95 and that was set last year. Today, it was 101 in Abilene. The highest I saw here was 99 but I could have missed a higher temp. 99 is definitely high enough for this time of year. We were in and out trying to get things ready for the movers and packing my car with some things we want to carry. We were dying from the heat. I kept saying . . I bet it isn’t this hot in Missouri.
This afternoon I was cleaning windowsills. I had done two windows in the family room/kitchen. Got to the third window and there was a giant grasshopper .. inside .. on the blinds.
Vince was outside. I had choices: Leave the grasshopper alone; go get Vince, or take car of it myself.
Gross, I know. I took care of it myself; grasshopper guts on the window so not only did I clean the windowsills but had to clean the window.
Every day I’m closer to knowing I won’t be sorry we’re leaving. That was one thing I was apprehensive about. I didn’t want to leave here til I was sure I wouldn’t be sorry. Every day, I’m more sure about our decision.

Of course this is the right thing for you. As we get older we need to be near family. Preferably kids. That way if something happens, Heaven forbid, there will be someone close to help out. You will be missed but we still love you just the same. Just don’t forget us down here in this hot place! You know the saying, we have served our time in Hell so we are sure to go to Heaven! LOL
