This unicorn sweater has kinda been a thorn in my side since I started it. First, the only way to get the pattern was to buy the magazine, Knit Simple. It was something like $4.99 and that was for the whole issue so it wasn’t bad but I was buying the e-version and I couldn’t get it to work right with Knit Companion so I was just reading it and knitting it from the online magazine. I was able to import the chart into Knit Companion, which was good because charts are where I an easy way to keep up with what I’m doing.
Second, I started this sweater in November, 2018. I took it with me to Chad’s at Christmas. I figured I’d work on the back and the sleeves but Addie wouldn’t know what I was making. Then, Addie was wanting to download games to my iPad and it was running out of space so I “cleaned” it up, removed all the things I didn’t need and one of the things I deleted was that issue of Knit Simple. During the middle of that same night, I woke up and realized what I had done but figured I’d just wait til I got home to mess with it. I did figure it out and got it all restored.
Third, a few months ago, I got a new iPad and I thought everything had transferred over to the new one. Yesterday when I got ready to start working on Addie’s sweater, the pattern wasn’t there. I tried to get it to download again and couldn’t. I figured the worst I’d have to do is pay $4.99 for it again but before I did that, I got the old iPad, busted screen and all, charged it and the pattern was there.
So, as you can imagine, I’ll be super happy to finish this sweater and get back to my “normal” patterns that work in Knit Companion.

Glad you found the pattern on the old tablet. Addie will love that sweater when you give it to her!

It should automatically show up on the new iPad if the old one backs up to the cloud. If not, you can use airdrop to transfer it.
Judy Laquidara says
Everything else transferred but that one would not. Since I had to charge the old iPad and since I’m so close to being done with the sweater, I’ll just finish from the old iPad.

I have Retayne but it’s a bit of a hassle to wash yarn before using it. I feel like when I’m paying upwards of $30 for a skein of yarn, the dyer should be doing more to stop the bleeding.
