Do people think for themselves anymore? As I noted last week, it seems more and more that a few individuals, with some self serving agenda, have a need to control the masses. And if you don’t play according to their rules one gets some fictitious demeaning label and doesn’t get to play in the sandbox anymore. A person with just half a brain and even more important, is able to use it, hopefully will not fall prey to this fasad. However, if this were the case, this kind of behavioral abuse would not continue to be growing at such an alarming rate.
I have no desire to waste my time getting caught up in this rubbish but instead will offer you another good read that will make you think and act on this kind of attempted manipulation. This link will take you to a really good book and its even on sale for $1.49 Don’t worry if you don’t have a Kindle because there is a free app that allows the book to be read. The book is entitled, “The Art of Thinking Clearly” and it contains 99 short, enjoyable to read chapters.
I really like the content of chapter 4, “If Fifty Million People Say Something Foolish, It’s Still Foolish”. Also I like, chapter 25 entitled, “The Calamity of Conformity: Groupthink. For less than the cost of 1/100 of a skein of yarn, you too can nod your head in agreement with the simple truths presented in this book – truths that use to be common place, but now are too often only found in books.

LOL!! I had to chuckle at the reference to the cost of a skein of yarn in relation to the cost of the book! When you put it like that I may have to break down and fork over the money!! 🙂

Your sense of humor never disappoints, Vince. I was reading about the whole Ravelry mess, and how it got started back in February on Instagram is so amazing, and so stupid, I can’t believe it actually happened in the real world. If that’s the sandbox I’m kicked out of, it’s okay. I already left before they got their foot off the ground.

The book you recommended was offered yesterday on BookBub for $1.99 for the Kindle edition if that helps anyone.

Thanks for the recommendation Vince. I have to take a break from the mainstream media quite often these days.

You don’t really mean that a skein of yarn cost $149.00 do you? Better check your arithmetic. I think you meant 1/10.

I think he was joking about how much I spend on yarn.
