Addie’s Elephant Sweater

Remember the elephant sweater I had started for Addie?

I showed it to her when I was there and she doesn’t like it! I don’t know if she was just being a 6 year old or if she really doesn’t like it. She is pretty hard headed about what she wears so I’m not going to finish it if she doesn’t like it. The pattern is Elephant Promenade and the pattern is for an adult pullover but I combined the colorwork part with a child’s cardigan so Addie’s will be a cardigan.

What I’m going to do is make the pullover for myself, show it to her and maybe she’ll decide she does like it. If so, I’ll finish it. If not, I’ll rip it all back and use the yarn for something else.

This is the yarn I’m using for mine. Sweater will be purple. Elephants will be white. Most of the other colorwork will be gold.

Kids are funny at that age (or any age). Perhaps the unicorn trend overcame thoughts of other animals. I love it..

What a shame! Of course, she could have just been having a bad moment at the time. One thing about kids – they’ll tell you the truth…Whether or not we want to hear it!
