This afternoon I took a long nap – almost three hours! That’s probably more than I slept last night! I’ve mentioned before that I so rarely have trouble sleeping but last night was one of those nights. An evening phone call . . wasn’t necessarily bad news but scenarios kept running through my head and I couldn’t stop thinking. We went to bed about 11 but after midnight, I was still tossing and turning so I got up, came in the living room to knit, got sleeping about 1:30 and decided to go to the other room to keep from waking Vince. I think I woke up twice during the night. When I got home from town, I had groceries to bring in and left my purse in the car, meaning to go back and get it so at 2:30 when I woke up, I remembered my purse so I went out and got that. Came in, took forever to go back to sleep, woke up at 4:30, was hot, thought about getting up and turning the a/c on. I could do it from my phone but I didn’t have a clue where my phone was. Fell back asleep trying to decide if I was going to get up and turn the a/c on or not.
Then, it must have been before 6, military jets . . noisy and low flying, woke me. Then I started thinking what it must be like to live in a war zone. I went back to sleep but before 7, they were back. I got up . . felt like I’d had enough sleep but around 1, I couldn’t hold my eyes open. Vince was outside working. I looked at Rita and said “I’m going to bed!” She looked at me like . . not without me and in a flash, she was ready to go to bed so Rita and I took a nap. At some point, Vince came in and couldn’t find Rita. He thought I was in the sewing room. He started calling her and I said “She’s in bed with me!” and went back to sleep and slept til 4.
So . . all that to say .. I’ll probably be up late knitting tonight.
Even with the long nap, I’ve made good progress. I think I’ll get the next green section done tonight!
