Today was a day we were going to fast completely. Most everyone has an opinion about fasting. Some do it for different reasons. Some think it’s crazy. I have done it for years for spiritual reasons but usually . . in fact, except for once, it’s been fairly short fasts – 24 to 36 hours. Today is the first day of a 48 hour fast Vince and I were going to do. Dinner yesterday to dinner tomorrow . . but I was hungry. My preferred way of eating is one meal a day but we decided to change things up a bit and do the two day fast. When we go dinner to dinner every day, I usually am not even hungry at dinner. We had dinner last night and I woke up this morning with my tummy growling. I’ve been hungry all day and then I told Vince .. I’m hungry and I’m eating something. I’m not going to be miserable.
I gathered up some things out of the fridge. I knew I wasn’t going to blow the diet on what I was eating but was pleasantly surprised when I plugged it all into my Carb Manager app.
I had leftover jalapeno poppers, pepper jack cheese, a string cheese stick, kimchi, kalamata olives, cucumber and avocado. I ate half the avocado but all of everything else and accidentally got really close on all the macros.
I’m happy I ate. That should be enough to get me going til dinner tomorrow and Vince can continue with his 48 hour fast if he feels like keeping it going. I’ll try another day but today was not the day!

It’s good you can listen to your body, and be flexible (since you know you CAN fast when you want to).
I would like to fast with the two of you one day!

I don’t think I could go more than 1 day on a fast. I tried once and made myself sick, so I decided not to do that again.
Why do you want to fast? Is it rrequired for the diet?
