I didn’t do a report yesterday which was the end of our two week diet period. Vince lost 19 pounds. I lost 10. His blood pressure is getting close to the point where his doctor told him he could reduce his blood pressure meds. I’ve quit taking my blood pressure every day. My blood pressure has never been high. It’s staying in the 110/72 range now so I’m not checking it.
I’ll always believe that genetics plays a huge role in our health. I’m not saying we can drink 30+ Dr. Peppers per week and stay healthy, no matter what our genetics might be but I do think I inherited a lot of healthy genes. My uncle is closing in on 87, does a ton of yard work, drives as far as he wants to go, is still very sharp mentally but he stays active, challenges himself mentally, and gets lots of exercise and is not overweight.
You know Vince and I are working to improve our eating habits. There’s no use tempting fate . . good genes or not.
So . . our dinner tonight.
It’s chicken wings, kale chips and salad.
Get a good close look at those wings! Vince said they’re the best wings I’ve ever made. I probably agree with him and I know they were definitely way less messy than my normal wing recipe.
This is the recipe I used. Even if you aren’t on a low carb diet, you should try these.

Three cheers for both of you! We’ve cut back on cabs around here and in fact ordered the Cravable Keto cook book a few weeks ago so it made me happy to see you posting that you enjoy some of her recipes. I miss tortillas the most, but found some low carb ones that I will splurge on occasionally. I’m going to try the english muffins you posted a while back.
WAY TO GO BOTH OF YOU!! Wow – so impressive!
Congratulations to both of you!!! This lifestyle change hasn’t seemed too hard. Your recipes and dinners look yummy! I agree genes do play a big part! Did you see the oldest WWII veteran died last month and he smoked cigars and drank whiskey every day! He was from Texas! Not many people can get away with that!
Wings in the Air Fryer are the best!
