It’s so funny how a memory surfaces and drags you down memory lane . . a lane that’s gotten so dusty that it takes a special event to stir those memories.
You may remember Addie’s list for Santa. Nicole has found most of those things but she brought home something they had written at school where each child had listed three things they wanted for Christmas. One of the things she wanted was a jewelry box.
I found this one and as soon as I looked at it, memories flooded into my head about the jewelry box I got as a child. Mine was all blue and had a ballerina that twirled when the lid opened. I can remember every morning when I woke up, opening it just to see if she was still there. I haven’t thought about that jewelry box in so very many years. I am so thankful to be spending Christmas with Addie.
It will be from Santa since she has it on her list for Santa but I can’t wait to see her face when she opens it.

Oh my goodness does that bring back memories for me as well. Growing up with five younger brothers I had to guard my jewelry box and hide it as they were fascinated with how the ballerina twirled. They eventually broke it which broke my heart though seeing your picture makes me smile remembering when I opened it.

Speaking of Christmas presents…. while I was doing my morning reading, there was a reference to the AeroGarden on Amazon. I checked it out and it seems like a good idea for growing some e-coli free lettuce – Romaine anyone?
Then I remembered that you had one at some point in time and searched your site – yup, it Christmas time in 2008!
So…. would you recommend getting one? I know you have a greenhouse so you wouldn’t use it anymore. But, the idea of growing my own lettuce is very tempting

I too had a pink jewelry box with a ballerina that turned to music.
My treasure is now one that my brother made me from wood. My brother has passed now so I do treasure the items he made. Some book shelves too.

I remember those jewelry boxes with the ballerina – It’s amazing that these are still popular all these years later.
My ballerina broke off and she “sleeps” in the jewelry box all these years later :-).
