This is still some of the Black Friday yarn that’s arriving. Seriously. Stop laughing. Vince believes me so you should too. No, really . . this yarn was dyed to order and came from Germany. Some of these are yarns that I’ve never used before so I wanted to try them.
Exotic Yarns
Left to right:
- Red – 70% alpaca/30% silk. Not a huge fan of alpaca but I wanted to try it.
- Tan – 70% wool/20% silk/10% cashmere.
- Blue – 50% wool/50% camel.
- Off White – 50% wool/50% camel.
The colors in my photo are off. The tan one is really a cocoa color and the off white is really kinda grayish.
Her colors are funny. Red is Poisoned Blood. Tan is Opening Pandora’s Box. Blue is Bleached Sky and off white is Dirty Snow.
The yarn is from Dye for Yarn. As I said, she’s in Germany. I ordered 6 skeins of lace yarn (some had already arrived and been reported on) and for 6 skeins, the shipping was $10.19. This yarn was ordered November 28 and she dyes most of it after it’s ordered so even with that and shipping, it arrived on December 8. I’m happy with several of the overseas dyers that I really like. Too bad I’m not going to let myself order yarn next year! 🙂

If you are a “no yarn order” in 2018 then how much are you planning to order before 2017 ends? Me? I am trying to convince myself not to order another rug hooking frame so I can’t say much.
