Yesterday, when I got home from knitting, the sky was getting dark. By the time I got the groceries in, it was thundering quite a bit. I went out with Rita and before she ever did her business, the lightning was seeming so close that I scooped her up and we went back in the house. I just knew it was going to rain. We have not had measurable rain since the last week in May. We so desperately need rain. It has rained all around us but not much at all here.
Vince came home and wanted to go back to town. He said it had poured at work . . 7 miles from here. When we left the house, not even a mile down the road there was water standing on the road! It had really rained . . but not at our house.
On our way back from town, we were both sure it was raining at our house. Nope . . not a drop at our house.
It was cloudy, the temp had dropped about 25 degrees since this afternoon . . it was just gorgeous outside.
Sometimes, the way the sun shines on the tops of the cedar trees, it makes them look like they’re showing Fall colors . . but they don’t change colors. This may be as close as I get to seeing Fall colors here in central Texas. I’ll take what I can get and be happy with it. 🙂
