This may affect the say some of you are reading my blog so please read. Thanks!
In the past month or so, my blog has been under attack by hackers. Honestly, I’m totally baffled at (1) people would spend valuable time trying so hard to do the wrong thing and (2) of all the big, high traffic blogs in the world, why target me?? My only guess is that if they can hack into it and “steal” it, maybe I will pay them to retrieve it back. I have no idea but it’s totally frustrating. It’s apparently some computer program that continues to generate passwords in hopes of stumbling on the correct one.
Some days there were 20 or 30 “failure to log in” messages. This has never happened until a bit over a month ago.
The company who hosts my blog (RFE Hosting) is great and Aaron there has given me some good tips to protect the blog.
They did get my username and so far, had not gotten my password so I’ve changed everything, added more security features and have disabled the RSS feed temporarily. If you’re receiving my blog posts in your email, that may stop for a while. We’ll just have to see what happens when I start the RSS back up in a few days.
One thing you may notice is that when I respond to your comments via email, it will be coming from a different email address. I have switched all blog related email to the judy.blog account. I will try to respond to comments in the comments section, unless it’s something more personal (for you or for me) than I want to put out to the public. So, if you ask a question, please check the comments section later and hopefully I will have left you a response. As always, if someone asks a question and you know the answer, feel free to respond!
Technology is great for some things but in the hands of bad people, it can be a real pain.
Thank you for understanding and if anyone knows more about how to handle all this than I do . . please let me know.

I checked restorationcowboy / montanaclarks blog today and found that a few days ago she put up information on how they froze their credit several years ago. With the 143 million other people whose information got stolen, let’s hope we can all boggle the computers that are obviously doing the hacker work!! Good Luck!!

We’ve been discussing whether we should freeze our credit. I hate to spend the money since we have to pay for both Vince and myself at three of the four credit reporting agencies. Small price to pay to protect your credit but still . . it isn’t our fault we’re now vulnerable but yet it’s an expense we’d have to pay to protect ourselves.

My husband was part of the Equifax hack so all but 1 place waived the fee for his credit freeze; I only had to pay in 2 of 4 places to freeze mine. You can place the freezes on line. It was the best $32.02 I spent!! Go to the Equifax site to see if either of your information was compromised.

For some reason we each only had to pay for one but you’re right . . peace of mind is worth it.
