It was a fun week! Our knitting retreat was held at Camp Allen in Navasota, Texas. It’s a gorgeous place.
I highly recommend Camp Allen to anyone looking for a retreat location.
It’s hotel type accommodations and the best part . . all meals are included in the price and the meals are quite good. There’s always tea, juices, coffee and ice water available. Meals are buffet style and we had such things as homemade fried chicken, apple pie, pecan pie, strawberry cake, meatloaf, BBQ chicken; I think there was a salad bar for every lunch and dinner. The rooms were basic but very clean. The air conditioner worked well! The water pressure was great . . about like taking a shower under a fire hose.
Vince took good care of the chickens, the dogs, the cats . . I think I was gone too long because Cat is hissing at me again.
There’s a yarn shop in Navasota and I never went. Hard to believe, huh? I never left the retreat center . . too busy knitting.
I think we all had fun but it will be nice to sleep in my own bed tonight!

Judy, glad you enjoyed it so much! We went to Prescott Valley, AZ this week to visit old college friends. We were out shopping and Judy wanted to go to her favorite store – Tractor Supply! Saw the baby chicks – so cute. Overall, a great store and my DH did not want to leave!

Yes this is a great area. Navasota is only maybe 30 miles from me here in Montgomery. We live in a beautiful part of the state. Huge old trees and friendly people. Glad you could come our way.Come again some time and let me know maybe we can meet somewhere and visit. Some how I always miss the post that you were gone . Glad you are home again.Don’t worry about cat he/she is just showing you she/he missed you.

At least for a knitting retreat you didn’t have to take the kitchen sink as we do when going to quilting retreats!
