There are so many biscuit recipes/types. Yesterday morning when I was going to make biscuits, I had planned to make Cream Biscuits but then remembered I’d used all my cream while making the Jalapeno Avocado Cream Sauce. Then I thought about making Angel Biscuits but, with yeast, they need to sit for an hour and I knew Vince was wanting to get outside and get busy before it got too hot so I just made plain biscuits. The biscuit recipe I used is posted below.
There isn’t a single day when I’m working in the kitchen that I’m not thankful for my solid counter tops. Most off, I’m thankful when I’m rolling out biscuits.
This is the countertop that I lived with for two years. I know . . it’s not so horrible and I should be grateful that I have a home but . . as much time as I spend in the kitchen, this uneven tile was not easy to work with.
I make sure, every time I’m loving my solid countertops that I mention to Vince how thankful I am to have them because I know he felt like it was a waste of money but he was tired of my moaning about the tile countertop. If I had my way, I would have taken out that window to made it a “U” shaped kitchen, put the fridge in front of where the window is now, taken out that pantry and put corner pantries on each side of the fridge. By adding the corner pantries, no cabinets would be added so we wouldn’t be trying to match new with old. The way the fridge is now (up against the wall on one side), you can’t open that right door enough to fully open the drawers in the fridge. I think without adding any square feet, taking out that window and making it a U-shaped kitchen would have made a huge difference. I wouldn’t miss the window. The whole wall cross from the bar is windows.
It’s a small kitchen and there is no “flow”. There’s one tiny opening and someone is always in someone’s way . . considering that two blind dogs stay in the kitchen when I’m in there . . they know sooner or later I’m going to drop something and they can scarf it down before I can get it.
It is what it is and I’m happy to have the solid countertops. I’ll live with it. By the way, for two years, I didn’t have a dishwasher. I finally convinced Vince that I would give up a set of cabinets for the dishwasher and managed to get that added. What I don’t have is a microwave. Don’t like them. Don’t use them. Vince uses it to heat up leftovers so there’s one in the laundry room.

I’m going to try these with some new gulten free flour (Cup4Cup) that was recommended by a friend (DH needs GF). Just wondering does it make a difference if my butter is salted and just cut back on/eliminate salt I add? Many recipes call for unsalted butter and I’m not sure why? BTW, I assume you mean 3/4 cup of Half and Half. Thanks.

Let us know how the recipe turns out with the GF flour. Yes, 3/4 cup Half & Half. I have used whole milk when I didn’t have Half & Half.
