This quilt is the never ending quilt. I decided to take the borders off and do them the right way. I’ve put too much work into these fiddly blocks to have it not turn out as I’d planned. So, for now, it sits in the house with the seam ripper nearby. I’ll just take the first border off and the two will come off as a “unit” so it’s not as much work as it might seem.
If I ever finish this quilt, I think we should all have a big party! What do you think?

“Reverse sewing” is the worst, isn’t it? You’ll be glad in the end that you did it. Every time I say to myself “oh, it’s good enough,” I end up regretting that I didn’t stop and fix it while I still had the chance. And I think a party is a great idea — EVERY finished quilt should have a party!

Whoa! Hold onto that party idea. I have a quilt being quilted for a second time. This is going to be one with some history. The first time I was called after the lady “quilted” two rows and called with a problem. It actually turned out she needed a new needle and a tension adjustment. I removed every one of those stitches through tears. Squared that king size quilt up again and delivered it to someone who knows what they are doing…I hope. I will be ready to party when that monster is finished!

Glad you’re fixing the borders. My Grandma used to say “Once to make it, always to look at it.” And then she’d rip. 🙂 Somebody would say, “Nobody will ever know,” and she’d say, “I’ll know, and it will bother me!”
