Guess who’s coming to visit us!
These pictures were some Nicole took a few days ago at Wildcat Glades near Joplin. Addie is such an outdoors type girl. It’s such a contrast from how so many kids grow up today. I love that she loves fishing and hiking and would rather be outside playing with animals than sitting inside watching TV.
Here, we’ll have to have some discussions about snakes and shaking your shoes out before putting them on, and not sticking your fingers in places where you can’t see what’s hiding, and taking your shoes off at the door so grass burrs don’t end up in the rugs. What other quick education does a non-Texan need to know?
We’ll also learn that a cat that hisses and runs away probably should be avoided. And in the sewing room we can play with Boots but we can’t play with Speck (who will be in the crate).
I’m so looking forward to spending time with Addie, getting to knit and go through the yarn stash and share some of it with her precious mommy and get to have my son under my roof for a few days again. Everything in my world will be perfect for about a week!
Wow! Addie is really growing, isn’t she? It’s amazing how quickly they go from helpless infant to interactive child!! Enjoy your time – it goes by waaaay too quickly!!
Addie is a pretty young lady…nothing like grandchildren. Please give us a Speck update. I wondered how all of that went. Enjoy your visit w/ family.
Oh my those eyes are gorgeous!!! Enjoy every second and gets lots and lots of hugs! Hope she wraps Vince very tightly around her little fingers.
Hmmmm, let me see…..I don’t know. Will you share please?! 🙂 🙂
She is looking more grown up with each photo! I hope you all have a blast being together!

I am also very lucky that all 7 of my grand children are being introduced to the wild outside. The two in Oregon much less than the rest who live here in Central Texas.
They are in the creek or park or some where many weekends. Mothers too are in the water with them. Daddy takes the older girl fishing also.
I don’t know how you haven’t written about this every hour! LOL She’s adorable. And yet with all that outdoorsy stuff … she has pink fingernails. That’s an independent girl for ya! Thanks for sharing photos. Have a great, GREAT time with her. And her parents, of course!
That child just continues to be GORGEOUS! Love the pink nails on that outdoorsy girl – y’all will have such a glorious week together! I wish my kids/grandkids could come to visit and I’m wishing y’all the happiest visit ever!
