This was fun and really wasn’t terribly stressful. I still managed to cook enough that we didn’t starve. There may or may not be a huge pile of laundry to be done
I was amazed that some folks had these two socks finished by Day #2. One knitter said it took her 12 hours. Probably 150+ people finished before I did.
I don’t consider myself an extremely fast knitter so I did a little math. I timed myself doing a few rows. On average, it was a bit more than 2 minutes per row.
Based on a bit over 2 minutes per row, I figured it took me 5 minutes per 2 rows of the pattern stitch. There were 126 rows per sock so there are 63 sets of 2 rows. 63 x 5 = 315 minutes = 5.25 hours for one sock. There was also the ribbing, the heal flap, and the toe shaping to be done. So, in theory, I should have been able to make both socks in less than 14 hours. I didn’t!
The next pattern is released on the 11th so I’l be rested and ready and see if I can knit a bit more quickly.
Glad to be done and have a few days with no sock knitting. Time to get cracking on my Camp Loopy project.

Very pretty socks… I looked at the pattern but I think I’ll just print it off for later..too many other things keeping me occupied.

Now I have to ask a silly question? Don’t those holes hurt your legs when boots are pressing on them? Don’;t they leave marks on legs and feet where the holes are? Seems to me the open spots would not feel good on legs at all. Just wondering. Seems like a lot of work for a pair of socks. Do they ear well?

Yesterday I was beyond frustrated. I love knitting socks but these are giving me fits. I ended up frogging back the entire sock and starting over. Now that I know what I was doing wrong – hopefully – I can get these done in a couple of days. Right now I’m a definite detriment to the team.

Very pretty! Are they comfortable?

I have one leg of one sock finished. And I am afraid I will run out of yarn. But….I slug on.
