Last week I told you that Aldi’s had mushrooms for 39¢ per package. The first time I went, I bought 3 packages and we used those for various dishes. I love slicing them, then cook them in a little butter, with onions, add balsamic vinegar and serve them over grilled steak or chicken. The second time I went I bought 4 packages and then I decided to go back and buy 24 packages to dehydrate.
The dehydrated mushrooms are fantastic for dumping in gravy, soup or spaghetti sauce. I ended up with 12 half pints, 4 pints and 3 quarts of dehydrated mushrooms.
Some of the larger ones I put aside and used them for stuffed mushrooms.
The price has now gone up to either $1.69 or $1.99 per pack so, while I’ll still buy fresh for salads and making stuffed mushrooms, for the most part, I’ll enjoy dehydrated mushrooms for quite a while.

I love having dried mushrooms in the pantry. I have about a pint left. I keep watching the price of them but gosh, they just don’t go down!! I’d love to find a good sale and clear the shelf so I could fill my shelf. Yes, I do that! 🙂

Our Aldi’s always has limits on how many you can buy on the good stuff. I would have to make a lot of trips there to get very many. I envy your ability to find the good sales!
