The Carabe I made for my friend was finished towards the end of last week but I had to wait til we had less humidity to soak and block it. It isn’t cold enough to run the heater and it’s too cool for the air conditioner and the humidity wasn’t unbearable, but too much for a sweater to dry so I waited til Monday and soaked and blocked it. This morning I had to run some errands so I went by and gave it to her and it was a perfect fit. I was a bit concerned because I didn’t have any of her measurements. She had tried Nicole’s Carabe on before I took it to Missouri and it was a bit too big for my friend so all I knew was “a bit smaller than Nicole’s” but “make the sleeves longer”. I held my breath while she tried it on but it was absolutely perfect and she loves it.
Of course, it’s a bit smaller than my dress form but you can see how it looks. We struggled with which buttons and what color buttons and then she said . . I’m never going to button it so let’s just leave off the buttons . . and we did.
The yarn is Malabrigo Rios which I love. In fact, I wore a sweater this morning that was made with Rios. If I could only have one yarn for every project, I’d choose Rios. The colors are Glazed Carrot and Paris Night, aka Auburn colors! 🙂
Now I’ve made three . . one for Nicole, one for Addie, and one for my friend. Next Carabe is for me!
