On the Needles – December 5, 2014

We’ve had no internet and it just now is back. I keep repeating “I’m the one who wanted to live out in the woods!” Never did I say “I want crappy internet” though! It isn’t lack of police or fire protection that’s going to send me back to civilization . . it’s the internet!

Boots is good. I’m seeing more output and have been able to get

OK . . on my needles . . I’ll do a better post later but I did finish Carabe but I don’t want to show it til my friend (who the sweater is going to) sees it. I doubt I see her this weekend but I’ll get a finished picture next week. It hasn’t been blocked yet, nor have all the tails been woven in.

Happy to see you back on line and good to hear that Boots is doing better. I often wonder why I don’t get as much done in a day as I used too. Then I think of the internet- definitely more productive before I was tied to it! So once again, good to see you back on, now I am off for a little while!

Yes, I know what you mean. Plus, we were in bed shortly after 9 last night. It was nice to go to bed early and wake up early, feeling rested.

Glad you’re OK and Boots is doing well. Yes, it’s a pain when the internet is down, but as long as there is power, be thankful. (That’s what I keep telling myself!)

Glad Boots is feeling better! Living in the city is no guarantee of internet, either. Our ISP went down last week and I’m still digging out.

At least living in town, you hopefully have either a land line or decent cell service. Since we have Magic Jack for our home phone and that works off the internet, and our cell phones work off a microcell, which works off the internet, when the internet is down, we have ZERO phones. Since we watch TV through Netflix or other subscription services and have no cable or satellite, when the internet is down, we have no TV.

When we lived in town, our cell phones worked without a microcell and if we wanted a land line, we had one. I think I could do without the internet if I still had some kind of phone to use.

My husband wants to switch from cable to dish. I always get nervous, thinking of your experience! Guess I’d better research.

I think it’s pretty regional. We’ve had bad luck several places but other places, the service was great. We sure don’t miss having cable or satellite though.
