Do you do it too? When I was a kid, and my parents would fuss at me for something (which happened more than you might think because I wasn’t the angel then that I am now!), my excuse was always . . “Well, this friend or that friend did it too!” and my dad would always say “If they jumped off the bridge, would you do it too?” Well, no . . because I try to stay away from bridges!
But . . my friend, Amy, is just getting me into all kinds of trouble. You know I wouldn’t be buying yarn if folks like Amy and Denise and all my other evil friends didn’t keep sending me emails about gorgeous yarn they’ve found. Don’t these girls have anything else to do?
A few weeks ago, Amy wrote me that Knitted Wit had gorgeous yarn and you could get whatever color you want and choose the weight you want and you didn’t have to go fighting to try to get it before someone else stole it out of your cart! Some of that gorgeous yarn is so darned hard to get. I went to Knitted Wit’s Etsy store and sure enough . . the colors appeared to be gorgeous. I ordered Buckle my Shoe:
. . and . .
There are a couple of patterns that I might use for these yarns . . haven’t decided yet. The colors are happy and pretty and the yarn feels so good.
If you’re a knitter, check out Knitted Wit’s yarns. I love how easy it is to choose the color you want, then from a drop down list, choose the weight! It also makes it real easy if there’s a pattern for a mom and daughter and one might take worsted weight and another might take a DK weight!
I appreciate all the indi dyers out there who are producing such yummy yarns. My bank account may not be quite so appreciative! 🙂

HHMM….your friends lured you into trouble and here you are doing it to the rest of us! I finally succumbed to knitting after a 30 year hiatus, I fell prey to sock envy! Love, love them! I peeked at that yarn, so gorgeous…..Who can resist, especially being able to select weight………..Thanks..(I think).

OK, you just have to pass along the temptation. First it was counted cross stitch – I had a ton of that stuff (can’t blame you for that one), then I moved on to quilting – still there and despite everything my stash continues to reproduce – now it’s knitting and my yarn stash is rivaling my fabric stash. I can’t knit fast enough to keep up much less get ahead! Thanks for all the tips – I pass them on to other addicts.

Lucky for you Amy and I are not planning to jump off any bridges for you to follow (well Amy might be but not me) — besides knowing how you feel about bridges, I know you wouldn’t follow me even if I was holding lovely hanks of yarn to entice you. I just got some oh so lovely Juliespins Unclub yarn in the most gorgeous red — but I’m thinking that Buckle My Shoe is a darn pretty color and I might need something that color so will have to go look. 😉

I wonder if she’d jumped off a bridge into a river of YARN?!?! Good thing that Judy lives in Texas. Think of how much trouble we’d get her into if she moved to Wisconsin by us.

I also try to avoid bridges, though my parents said the same thing. They should have told me not to go to quilt shops with friends who have wonderful eyes for color. Oh my. It is, however, a vice I enjoy so much I don’t think I’ll give it up!

Gorgeous colors. Thank goodness I don’t knit because I would have more yarn than I could ever use just because of the colors. When I would say So and so’s Mom said they could do something my Mom would say Well when her Mom becomes your Mom you can do it too but I’m your Mom and I say no. That used to make me so mad! Maybe you need to tell “some of your friends” when you bank account becomes my bank account I’ll buy more yarn. (lol) But the happy colors sure are pretty. Just wind it into balls and put it in a clear bowl so you can see it. Tell Vince it’s a decorating item. (Like he cares)

I just might be on the way to becoming a yarn junkie. I knit a little, but I’ve always wanted to learn how to crochet too. I have tried to teach myself many times, but I just never “got it.” So, I’m taking a crochet class now, and OMG, I love it!! I first just bought the yarn for our class project. I went online looking for some easy crochet patterns and I found so many things I want to make!! When I went shopping for yarn for my second class project, yarn for a baby blanket, 2 hats and scarfs for my granddaughter, and a sweater jumped into my cart.
I like the rolling it all into balls and putting it in a bowl as a decorator item. My husband would totally buy that!! LOL.

We have moths here so I don’t leave mine out but it surely would be pretty if I did. I like that idea.

Now the secret is out. Hope Lorajean can keep up with all those orders! Have you swatched with it yet?

No swatch! I have a test knit to finish and then a quilt to get made. It will go into the yarn room and get to know all the other yarns in there! 🙂

My parents used that same line on me too. And we were not even close to LA.

You temptress, you! I’m glad I DON’T knit or crochet, or I might be following you down this path, too!
