At least half of yesterday was spent in the sewing room . . cleaning!
This is the “before” picture. All the canned food goes in the sewing room closet. Vince carries the jars over for me and then I put them up where I want them. You can see Vince has been doing his job but I haven’t been!
By the end of the day, the jars were put away, the floor was vacuumed and the second cutting table was cleaned off. You can’t see it in the first picture because of the rolls of batting blocking the view but the Bernina sewing cabinet was covered . . lots of stuff piled on it. I got that all cleaned off and the batting rolls hauled to the closet.
It’s shaping up in there. Walking in is definitely more pleasant without all those jars and empty boxes piled up.
This area was covered in fabric that needed to be put away. Done!
The best part of cleaning . .
He’s laying there flat on his back, trying to grab me when I walk by. Yes, he’s a good helper! 🙂
Today will be spent canning tomatoes. I may not get to spend any time in the sewing room but I think the next few days I spend in there will be spent sewing and then I’ll get back to cleaning.

It looks great!! Doesn’t it feel good? I love it when I can look around and feel that sense of “everything in its place”! It doesn’t happen very often in my house!
BTW, the sheep print your helper is lying on is really cute!

I swear I need an entire wing to store all my fabric/yarn goodies. When I get rich and buy my mansion, I will claim at least half the house for my stuff. But isn’t it lovely to have it all?

When our sewing rooms do double duty with other purposes it is sure easy for the “stuff” to get out of control. You did a great job on that room even though your helper probably didn’t do his share. Now you make me want to clean my sewing room as soon as I get home from this work related road trip.

Amazing how all of the extra “stuff” can get tucked away. Great to see you back spending more time in the sewing room. Your Preserving Jars (as we call them) are looking great- and so appropriate as canning is so much a part of your life.

Sigh … A month or more ago, we decided that the sewing room floor (bare hard wood) needed re-doing (Very naughty kitties peeing on it). As long as EVERYTHING had to be moved out, might as well paint the walls too! An obliging friend took on the job and did a great job. Problem is…. putting everything back! Somehow, it got spread out into the hall way, living room, dining room…….. YUK! Getting everything back in an organized way is taking a lot longer than it should. BUT on the other hand, the sewing room looks great! P.S. The door is kept closed and no kitties allowed in without supervision. So far, so good. The sewing machine and ironing board are in there so we are making progress. Just jot up to you, Judy!
