Road Trip

Nothing was added this week. Yesterday we were in a small town that had a quilt shop and Vince asked if I wanted to stop and I said no!  I wasn’t so strong when it came to the yarn shop though!

As far as used, I sent 3 yards to Nicole for a project she’s working on. Looks like that’s my best bet as far as “using” fabric these days.

Used this Week: 3 yards
Used year to Date: 17 yards
Added this Week: 0 yards
Added Year to Date: 0 yards
Net Used for 2014: 17 yards

This is our last stash report for January!  Hope everyone is happy with their numbers.

This was the first time *ever* since I’ve started reporting, that my net showed more out than in. And while that has never been my goal, necessarily, it sure felt good to see!! 🙂

Vince should know better. I’m guessing you’re further in the red on your yarn report? You better start knitting with your toes too!

I find too that the only way to stay strong is to not enter the stores – when we travel and see quilt shops Mike will ask do I want to stop and I once in awhile but then over the whole trip I finally have to just say no don’t stop because if I go in chances are I will see something I want not need

Karen, I agree! There are a bunch of quilt shops that I don’t even go near!
HOWEVER then there is the quilt shop that offers quilt classes and there’s a group of us that meet monthly and sew away while chattering on – and on! To that one, I say – focus on looking at the group and walk STRAIGHT to the class tables (walking with a blind eye the whole way, past all the luscious batiks, drool-worthy florals, and earnest gotta-have solids!).

If need be – carry a set of blinders to block any possible focus to one side or the other and proceed quickly (even a run may be advised!) to the class tables!

You appear to have overcome the influence of fabric. Good luck with getting to that point with the yarn.
