It’s that time of year . . time for my quarterly rating from the electric company. You will remember that in November, 2012, I got a frowny face. Then in March, 2013, I moved up a little bit. Here’s the one I got yesterday:
It’s hilarious because the house closest to me is at least three times as big as mine but the people only come there about every other weekend. They use propane for heat too so I can’t imagine anyone who lives anywhere near me who would have used 6,315 kilowatt hours during the winter. Not that I really care but . . with the air conditioner already running, I’m guessing that I’ve seen my last happy face for a while!
All I have to say is . . I’m glad they didn’t see my propane bill last month! 🙂

The solar oven must be paying off!

Nope, haven’t used it much lately. During the winter, I’m not using the a/c and the heat is propane. That report was for January – March when no a/c was used. Water heater, stove, dryer and furnace are all propane so the only electricity we were using was lights, fridges and freezers.

I wonder if caulking around the windows would help. We did ours last fall and cut our bill almost in half. Our house is only 20 years old but he could see daylight under the windows. Worth a try. it also would help with the dust.

Thank heaven I live in a building where the heat and air are included in the rent. No more worries about bills from electric and heat companies.

I’m always getting “bad” ratings from those. But, we’re one of the larger houses in the neighborhood and I work at home in the studio with lots of lighting.

Did I tell you that when I got my gas bill this month, I was astounded to see a credit balance? I knew the price of gas had dropped, but I didn’t think it would drop that much, and I’m on the pay-for-what-I-use, not the equal payment thing. Turned out, I’d paid the blasted bill twice last month!! I’m gettin’ old!
